Inflation & Assembly

Chamber Pressures

  1. Tubes 0.25 BAR (3.5-4psi)
  2. Keel 0.25 BAR (3.5-4 PSI)
  3. High-Pressure Air Deck Floor 0.6 BAR (8-9 PSI) 

Step 1: Identify the Inflation Valves

  1. This boat has 4 halkey robert inflation valves, one on each side tube, one for the bow and one for the inflatable floo,
  2. Each valve has a protective cover attached by a piece of string. To inflate or deflate, remove the cover.

Step 2: Prepare the Valves

  1. Each valve has a sprung pin in the centre that can be twisted.
  2. Push the pin in and twist it clockwise to lock it the out/closed position for inflation.
  3. Ensure the pin is in the sprung in the out/closed position for inflation, if in the open inward position air will leave the tube after removing the hose. 
  4. Push the pump hose adapter into the valve and turn it clockwise until it locks in place (reverse the process to remove the hose).

Step 3: Inflate tubes

  1. Begin inflating the main tubes to approximately half pressure  (0.12 BAR / 2psi). The order of chambers does not matter.
  2. Slide the seat(s) onto the channels on the side tubes. If a little stiff we recommend using a lubricate such washing up liquid or vaseline to help the seats slide on.
  3. Once seats(s) are in place, continue inflating to full pressure, 0.25 Bar (3.5-4psi).

Step 4: Position and Inflate the Keel and Floor Mat

  1. Position the inflatable keel into centre of the boat, running down the middle with the valve at the bow end,
  2. Insert the floor mat over the keel, inside the boat. Ensuring the floor edges are tucking under the tubes.
  3. Ensure the keel valve is aligned with the hole in the floor mat.
  4. Inflate the floor mat to 0.6 Bar (8-9psi).
  5. Then inflate the keel to 0.25 Bar (3.5-4psi).

Step 5: Final Steps

  1. After inflating, screw the valve covers back on, to protect the inside of the valve.
  2. Attach the oars to the threaded rowlocks.

Valves

The boats are equipped with Halkey Roberts valves, which are widely used in the inflatable boat industry. In your repair kit, you will find a valve spanner. If your boat loses air pressure over time, the first thing to check is the tightness of the valves, as they can sometimes work loose. It is advisable to check the valve tightness after the first inflation and use of the boat.


General Care & Maintenance

  1. All boatworld boats can be kept inflated or stored in their bag.
  2. If let inflated outside:
    1. Please up turn the boat to prevent water from pooling inside.
    2. Do not keep boat in directly sunlight for prolonged periods.
    3. If you are keeping the boat inflated, we recommend keeping the boat under a boat cover, to reduce weather and UV damage.
  3. If deflating and storting
    1. Recommend storing in carry bag provided with the boat.
    2. Before deflating remove all accessories (seats, oars and engine brackets)
    3. Screw caps back on to rowlock bolts to avoid damage when rolling up.
    4. Once air been removed from the tubes, please are secured.
  4.  Avoid contact with fuel or cleaning chemicals. Do not use household cleaners
  5. Rinse regularly with fresh water and a suitable cleaner (Boatworld recommends Silky Marine or August Race). UV protection sprays and polishes are also recommended.
  6. Rinse away sand and debris after each outing, especially around the transom, valves and deck joints.
  7. Avoid using a high pressure jet wash, as this may drive particles deeper into the joints.
  8. If necessary use soft cleaning equipment, such as sponges and soft nylon brushes.
  9. If any seams tapes, D-rings, mouldings or mounts begin to lift, deal with them immediately to prevent further damage.
  10. Be aware, rodents can damage inflatable materials, so take care when storing the boat.

Davits & Rope Use

If your boat is equipped with davit rings:
  1. Do not load the boat with any equipment while it's hanging on davits, make the sure the boat is empty of all equipment and accessories.
  2. The davit points are rated up to maximum total weight of 100kg (this includes boat and engine weight).
  3. The guide rope on the side tubes is not designed for mooring. Only intended for assistance while boarding or for holding on to while boating.
  4. Please use mooring line included, instead of tube guide ropes.

Repairs

Should you need to repair your boat, a repair kit is provided, with a tube of glue and boat tube fabric to match your boat. Always cut a circular repair patch that is around 40-50mm larger in diameter than the hole.

Repair Instructions

    1. Mark out where you want to fix the repair patch by drawing around it where it fits to the hull

    2. Ensure both surfaces (patch and boat) are dry and free from dirt and grease.

    3. Apply a thin, even coat of adhesive to the surface of the boat and repair the patch. Starting with the hull.

    4. Let the glue go touch dry and then repeat with a 2nd coat.

    5. After the 2nd coat (don't forget to put the cap back on the glue), press the patch firmly on the tube over the affected area immediately.

    6. Apply consistent firm pressure, paying close attention to the edges which may lift.

    7. Hold in place for 3 minutes and leave to cure for 24hrs before moving or using the boat.


    Warranty Terms & Conditions

    Testing Before Modification

    Boatworld advises all customers to inspect and pressure test their inflatable boat, leaving it for up to 48 hours before use and before making any modifications to the vessel. If modifications are made, Boatworld reserves the right to perform a repair, rather than provide a replacement, if the product is found to be faulty within 30 days of purchase.     Warranty Coverage

    This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use during the warranty
    period. During the warranty period, Boatworld will repair or replace, at no charge, products or parts of a product that proves defective because of improper material or workmanship under normal use and maintenance.

    Warranty Period

    The warranty period for inflatable products purchased from Boatworld is 3 years from the date of purchase.

    Exclusions

    This warranty does not cover:
    1. Damage caused by improper use or misuse.
    2. Damage resulting from natural disasters or acts of God.
    3. Normal wear and tear.
    4. Products that have been modified or repaired without Boatworld’s authorisation.
    5. Damage caused by neglect, improper storage, or failure to follow care instructions.

    Claim Process

    To make a warranty claim, please go to our website and fill out the warranty claim form.
    Where you be required to provide:
    1. Your name and contact details
    2. Order number/invoice number and purchase information
    3. Product information including serial number
    4. Claim description and any images of videos to illustrate your claim
    After which one our warranty team will assess your claim and been in contact as soon as possible.

    Repair or Replacement

    Boatworld will, at its discretion, repair or replace any defective product. If a product is replaced, the replacement product assumes the remaining warranty of the original product or 1 year from the date of replacement, whichever is longer, for products which have been modified, such as launch wheel fitted, mounts attached, etc, a repair will be offered. If repair is unsuccessful, the product will be replaced, but Boatworld is not responsible for replacing any of the fittings that can not be replaced. Please note that.

    Limitations of Liability

    Boatworld’s liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective products and does not include incidental or consequential damages resulting from using the product.

    Governing Law

    This warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom.
